About Skate Art Studio¶
What we do¶
Each year Skate Club Telč invites local artists to paint skateboard decks. The decks are exhibited, offered for sale, and the proceeds go directly to building skate infrastructure and community in Telč.
Every work is a unique original. Every artist donates their work pro bono.
Why skateboard decks¶
The skateboard deck is an unusual canvas — narrow, vertical, 22 × 35 cm of maple. It carries the history of skate culture and the marks of use. Artists respond to it differently: some embrace the format, some fight it, some ignore it entirely.
The result is always specific to the object. You cannot hang it and forget it.
The proceeds¶
All proceeds from deck sales go toward:
- Construction of a covered skate mini ramp in Telč (est. 250 000 CZK)
- Equipment and operation of Skate Club Telč
- Future exhibitions and events
